About The Reformed Standard

Our Approach to Theology

Good theology is often about asking and understanding good questions as much as it is about coming to the right answer. We use the historic catechisms not just as statements to be memorized, but as diagnostic instruments for our own spiritual growth. We explore the questions from a technical perspective, but more importantly, we let the questions question us.

The podcast follows a consistent weekly rhythm. On Tuesdays, we explore one of the questions from the Westminster Shorter Catechism. On Thursdays, we cover the answer to that question. Each episode is designed to be “bite-sized”—7 to 10 minutes long—perfect for a coffee break or your drive to work. Periodically, we release a special Wednesday episode for a deep dive on another historic Creed or Confession related to the topics we have been covering.

About the Production

Every episode of “The Reformed Standard” is born from a desire to make deep doctrine accessible. Each script is personally researched and written by me, Tony. To ensure the final audio is as clear and consistent as possible, the episodes are produced using a high-quality, AI-powered voice.

As a husband, dad, and active church member, my time is filled with many commitments. Using an AI speaker allows me to focus my limited time on what’s most important: the content and substance of each meditation. In a world of babies, toddlers, and other joyful noises, it also means I don’t need a soundproof studio to produce a clean, listenable show for you.
